Dear Potential New Member,

It can be assumed that since you are reading this, you have made the decision to look into Fraternity life. It is an excellent idea, and might I add it is an even better idea to be looking in the direction of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Our chapter has graced the campus of Old Dominion since April 20th, 1985. Many men have found a place in Sigma Phi Epsilon and have used the chapter as a means to grow, develop, and become successful in whatever they do later on in life. In the last 20 years we have been changing and evolving into the brotherhood we have today. The next generation starts with YOU.

In our chapter we have several key points that we focus on; academics being one the main one. Receiving an education and making good grades are the reason why you are here at ODU. We can provide you with all sorts of resources that will increase your GPA and make you more marketable when you graduate. Tutors, study hours, and meeting Brothers with the same or similar majors are just some of the things Sig Ep can provide you with.

We also focus on community service and philanthropy. We raise thousands of dollars and put in countless hours for charities and community service projects. Our main charity is Relay for Life in which we donated $1000 dollars to in the 2003- 2004 school year. Some service projects include working at area soup kitchens, organizing clothing drives, and picking up trash at local parks. All of these activities not only give you the satisfaction of having helped out your community but they also look great on a resume .

Last but definitely not the least, we strive to have the strongest unity possible. Our brothers are not just friends, but a family. We play intramural sports; go to movies, concerts, and other school activities together. Along with time spent raising money and doing community service, we also do a lot of just good ol’ hanging out. I can guarantee that you will meet several people via Sigma Phi Epsilon that will be some of your best friends for life.

In short, Sigma Phi Epsilon is a sacred Brotherhood that tailors to great young men who desire to be the best of the best. Sig Ep will be a building block for your future and can help ensure success not only in the job world, but the most important place of all… life.
